This lovely antique mirror looks to date from the late nineteenth century but is older in style. It has a decorative wood & gesso gilt frame, and a lower bevel-edged shaped mirror with a coloured print above. It is designed to be hung on a wall and retains its wall fixings to either side. The print looks to be original to the mirror and certainly has some age – it may be hand-finished.

Condition: Overall this mirror is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the finish as might be expected and some cracking and loss to the gesso decoration, particularly to the bow at the top. There are some holes along the bottom of the frame. The gilt paintwork looks to have been over-painted or touched up at some point and is now scuffed and dulled. The mirror has some scratching and black corrosion spots as might be expected. The print has some foxing (brown spotting) and discolouration.
