Material: Gilt
Period: Regency Antiques
This lovely antique overmantle mirror dates from around the 1820s/30s. It has a lovely wood and gesso gilt frame with Egyptian style neoclassical design and column supports. Unusually the column supports terminate in feet. There are three bevel-edged antique mirrors.
Condition: Overall this lovely mirror is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the finish as might be expected and some cracking to the gesso decoration. The gilt-paintwork looks to have been over-painted or touched up at some point and is now a little dulled. The mirrors have some scratching and some dark marks and corrosion as might be expected and there is a larger corrosion spot near the bottom of the central mirror to one side.
