This is a superb large 19thC gilded gesso Pier Glass.
It is in the 18thC Classical Rococo style and features a crest with cherubs reclining against an urn decked with flowers

The mirror plate is original, and has deeply bevelled edges. There are 4 additional etched and bevelled mirror panels to each of the sides which are secured with beautifully ornate gilt glass headed pins.

The plate is in very good condition, reflection is clear, bright and true with no smokiness.

The backboards have been undisturbed for generations, probably original, and are secured with aged rusted iron pins.
